DIVING WITH
GIANTS

Join us for a unique opportunity to swim with the majestic sperm whale in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Known as the Nature Island, Dominica is home to an abundance of biodiversity both on land and at sea, most notably one of the only locations in the world with resident sperm whale pods. This rugged and majestic island consists of nine active volcanoes; lush, verdant rainforest; and an ocean teeming with life.
There is no better place in the world to swim with sperm whales than Dominica; with its clear, warm Caribbean waters and deep shelves so close to shore – the visibility is unmatched, the interactions abundant and the experience unparalleled.

CAMP
DOMINICA

On land, Camp Dominica experience operates in a “resort within a resort” concept, with a private chef, yoga and breathwork instructor, and guides dedicated exclusively to each group.
Trips inland will allow access to some of the island’s reported 365 rivers, affording unique experiences such as elaborate lunch spreads set deep inside the island.

CAMP DOMINICA
TEAM

Each expedition will be led by Adam Slama, an accomplished free diver and photographer, and Jackson Mawhinney. The two bring incredible expertise and connections to the experience.
As a proud Dominican, Jackson holds the country and its natural beauty close to his heart, passionately working to protect its future as an untouched natural paradise, while sharing its wonders with guests. Paired with Adam’s deep love for the ocean and dedication to conservation, the two offer an intimate and immersive experience of Dominica. Camp Dominica’s motto is: Development does not have to mean destruction.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
CAMP DOMINICA
Each day in Dominica will be action packed and uniquely enriching. Begin with morning yoga- a specialized, tailored series of breath work, movement and sound baths to prepare for an exhilarating day swimming with sperm whales.
Proceed to the docks, where our Captain will welcome us before we set off on a comfortable adventure aboard our fully-equipped Lagoon 51, which provides a spacious and comfortable platform for cruising along Dominica’s stunning Caribbean coastline. Nutritious lunches will be prepared by our on-board chef and snacks and refreshment served throughout the day. On each daily excursion, the carefully-curated team of experts, including a local “whale whisperer”, will guide us in the water to maximize their experience without disturbing the whales.
Mid-afternoon we return home where massages, warm down yoga and other amenities are available. Like all peoples throughout history, we understand the importance of breaking bread. As such, every other evening we will be joined by a guest for supper; from ocean specialists to the Common Earth team and notable members of the Dominican government who are spearheading conservation.
