EYOS Expeditions was founded to service adventurous superyacht owners over five years ago. Since then, we’ve continued to see more and more interest in taking luxury yachts outside the traditional Mediterranean and Caribbean cruising grounds.
Yachts are venturing to remote regions such as Antarctica, the Northwest Passage, or tropical regions like Vanuatu. In addition, we’ve seen and worked with new expedition yachts being built each year.
The latest sign that expedition yachting is becoming more popular happened just last month at the Antibes Boat Show. The Prestige Yacht Auction was billed as the biggest event in superyacht auction history—no less than eight luxury yachts larger than 30meters were up for sale.
Despite the interest in the auction, only one yacht sold: the 77.7 meter converted salvage tug and current expedition yacht Lone Ranger. Superyacht News reports that her pedigree of having completed two round-the-world trips and having ventured to both the Arctic and Antarctica made her extremely popular and prompted several bids.
More and more owners are deciding that if they are going to invest in an incredible yacht, it should be truly capable of going anywhere and exploring far off the beaten track.
We offer a full range of services for these adventurous owners, starting right from consulting on the build and design of the yacht to working with Captains to design itineraries and then guide the Owner on their expeditions.
