Activities are tailored to each private expedition charter and may include Zodiac cruising, kayaking through quiet inlets, hiking in temperate rainforest, wildlife watching, fishing and flightseeing over glaciers, alpine lakes and moraines. Flexible itineraries allow the Captain and Expedition Leader to select the best experiences each day based on weather, wildlife and local conditions.
Guest capacity varies by yacht, but for example, Hanse Explorer accommodates up to 12 guests in seven comfortable staterooms. This intimate capacity allows for a highly personalized expedition, with plenty of space aboard and flexibility when exploring ashore.

The best time to explore Southeast Alaska by private yacht is from May through September, when longer days create excellent opportunities for cruising and outdoor activities. June through August are especially popular for wildlife viewing, with possibilities including humpback whales, brown bears, Steller sea lions and bald eagles.
